FAQS

1. How do I order?

Christmas stock is now available to order online. Due to it being a busy time of year, unfortunately, we are unable to take bespoke orders. You will also find our Cookie Box at many local events in the Scottish Borders where you can buy our delicious products and we will be out and about at xmas markets.

If you are visiting Kelso you can visit our Cookie Shed (in our garden) and purchase cookies at your own leisure. We operate an Honesty Box policy, please scan our QR code to pay for your treats. Keep an eye on our social media to see when The Cookie Shed will be stocked and which goodies are available, but we aim to be open every day from 9am-9pm.

2. Do you post cookies?

Yes I can post cookies nationwide via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Delivery takes approx. 1-3 working days. I do my best to package your goods safely for posting but I will not be held responsible for any damage caused in transit or any late deliveries. I do not offer refunds for damages or delays. Don’t worry though even if they don’t look perfect when they arrive or they are a little late, they will still taste delicious! Please let me know if you are experiencing delays with your order and I will do my best to investigate. I value your feedback.

3. Do you cater for allergies?

Yes, I cater for gluten free, dairy free, soya free and vegan diets. As a coeliac myself I take allergies very seriously. Because I bake in my home kitchen I can’t guarantee that any of my products will be 100% free from allergens but I do take cross contamination very seriously. I only use Gluten Free Flour in all of my baking and I have a separate Baking room in my house where no gluten is allowed, so cross contamination risks are very low. However, if you have very severe allergies, my products may not be suitable for you. All my products may contain nuts and peanuts.

4. Can you personalise/customise cookies?

Yes all my goods are fully customisable. Please just ask if you would like different flavours, etc. and I will do my best to accommodate your request. I can also put personalised messages inside your boxes if you would like to send them as a gift.

5. Can your cookies be frozen?

Yes my cookies can be frozen. Please wrap individually and freeze on day of delivery. They can be frozen for up to 3 months. Defrost fully before eating. They are usually best served warm after they have been frozen so just give them a quick buzz in the microwave (not anything in foil trays) for 20 seconds or so or pop in oven for 1-2 minute at 180C.

6. What is the shelf life of your cookies?

They keep around 7-14 days, if eaten after this time they won’t do you any harm but just may be a bit drier than they should be. Store in an airtight container in a cool dark place for best results. We make sure all of our products are heat-sealed when they are sent to you to give them the best possible shelf-life.

7. How do you cook the Hot Cookie Doughsserts?

Preheat the oven to 180C, remove lid and cover with tinfoil (if you don't have any foil don't worry it just stops the chocolate from burning on the top). Place in the centre of the oven and cook for approx 8-10 minutes. Edges should be golden and crispy and middle should be gooey and delicious! All oven temps vary so please keep an eye on your doughssert and adjust cooking times accordingly.

8. Where are you based?

In Kelso in the Scottish Borders. A small and very beautiful town in the south of Scotland. Local orders can be collected or delivered (if required), but don't worry they can also be posted anywhere in mainland UK. My address for collection and where The Cookie Shed is located:

9 Halliden Road

Kelso

TD5 7LU

9. How quickly can I get cookies?

It really depends, I try to turn around orders as quickly as I can, but ask for at least 7 days notice if possible. If you require cookies for a specific occasion, please order as soon as possible so you are not disappointed if I can't do it. I take orders up to 1 month in advance.
